VISION

“The Nir Yeshiva of Kiryat Arba is a continuation of the original Yeshiva which functioned here in ancient times, as it says “Avraham was old and sat in Yeshiva” [Talmud Yoma 28:2]. The Yeshiva blends Torah with bravery, and holiness with the great deed of settling the Land of Israel, might with spirit, and messirut nefesh with Kiddush HaShem” (Rav Shlomo Goren ZTL).

Torah is an endless sea. We aim to build Torah scholars whose in-depth, long-term Torah study stems from the holiness of life in Eretz Yisrael, and who are committed to serve the Jewish people and the State of Israel.

The Yeshiva educates its students in light of the writings of Rav Avraham Yitzchak HaKohen Kook and his son, Rav Tzvi Yehuda. We assist them in studying day and night, and in shaping their personalities through their connection to the people and the land, and through seeing G-d’s hands pulling the chords in the redemption process.

We believe that with the renewed linking of the Jewish people to its ancestral homeland, the hidden spiritual powers of our nation awaken, serving as a catalyst for the repentance process spreading throughout Israeli society. We trust that the stronger this bond between the people and the land is, the more evident and widespread this Teshuva process will become, and hence the growing need for Torah scholars with a national outlook.

By studying Torah in our ancestor’s city, we derive spiritual competence from those who lived and acted here – from Calev ben Yefune’s dedication, and from David HaMelech’s courage.

We believe that the legacy of Torat Eretz Yisrael which connects the spiritual with the material, infusing holiness into daily action, instills a healthy spirit in those who study it, and through them will bring a new spirit to the entire Jewish nation.
